Welcome back to Critical Blast’s long-running weekly look at what new comics you should check out each week.   Just a warning, I make these picks pretty much a week BEFORE I actually get to read any of these comics, so if something is a stinker, I take no blame on that.  Let's get to it!

While it is still probably a bit too long, I did trim down my pull list considerably in the last few weeks. There are still a lot of comics I am excited about though.

  • JUSTICE LEAGUE: NO JUSTICE #1 – I did think the lead in in DC NATION #0 felt really rushed and hard to follow, so I hope the first issue doesn’t just jump right in to the action. It just feels the story needed a lot more setup than we got so far. But this is still t he most excited I have been about a Justice League comic in far too long!
  • SCOOBY APOCALYPSE #25 – I am shocked that this series made it as long as it has so far! It has been a terrific relaunch of Scooby Doo, but so different that I wasn’t really sure there would be an audience for it. But it continues to be one of my favorite comics each and every month! Happy 25th issue SCOOBY APOCALYPSE, and I can’t wait to see where this series goes next!
  • DOMINO #2 – Gail Simone’s first issue of DOMINO was great! I never knew I needed a DOMINO series in my life, but if the first issue was any indication, DOMINO has potential to be one of Marvel’s best new series.
  • SUICIDE SQUAD #41 – I actually enjoy SUICIDE SQUAD quite a bit, but more often than not it feels really repetitive. Someone with grudge against Amanda Waller does something horrible to the Squad or Waller’s family, and we are forced to consider whether or not Waller’s actions are worth it in the end. I am hoping we can get away from that a bit. The series is still very good, it just feels predictable at times, and that is never what you should get from SUICIDE SQUAD.
