4001 AD: SHADOWMAN – Stop taunting me, Valiant!! Shadowman was one of my favorite Valiant books. It’s clear that Valiant wants to do more with the character. He’s appeared in various forms in Ninjak, Books of Death, and now 4001. Stop teasing us and just give us a new Shadowman series already!!!
The setting is 1936, and John Reid -- the retired Lone Ranger -- knows one thing for certain: "Hitler and Mussolini are up to no good, without question! And their no good is a far worse no good than no good ever was in my day. Makes me mad as a hornet!"

St. Louis has more than enough comic, anime, cosplay, sci-fi and fantasy geeks within its general market area to support a substantial pop culture convention or “comicon.” Yet we don’t have one, or at least we don’t really have one in the traditional sense. The Wizard Worlds conventions have run downtown for a few years now and some comic creators have said they’ve done okay there, but they are grossly overpriced for admission which grants you the privilege to hand over an even bigger wad of cash to the likes of T.J. Hooker, some random cannon fodder Jedi gal from one of the what-should-be-non-canon STAR WARS prequels, or some dude who got ate by one of THE WALKING DEAD three seasons ago.

All-New X-Men #10 by Dennis Hopeless and Mark Bagley (Apocalypse Wars)
Summary: Beast is dying in the desert, but Ozymandias arrives and convinces the Sandstormers that Baal (En Sabuh Nur’s father) would be angry if they let him die. Ozymandias takes Eye of Horus that Beast got from Dr Strange and heals him. Ozymandias realizes Beast is from the future. Ozymandias wants Beast’s help in overthrowing Baal to help bring about the Apocalypse. The Sandstormers arrived to arrest Ozymandias and Beast
Remember when you'd get up on a Saturday morning before your parents, sloppily make yourself a bowl of cereal (using the mixing bowl, the whole box of cocoa-whatevers, and half a gallon of milk), then turn on the television and do nothing but live in the animated world until lunchtime? It was fun, it was adventure -- and it was serious business! Jonny Quest, Space Ghost, the Herculoids, the Impossibles, the Galaxy Trio, Birdman, Space Ghost, Frankenstein Junior, and more were always there to take you on the ride of your young life.

When it comes to funnybook humor, Dav Pilkey has gone to the dogs. Literally.
Introducing DOGMAN, the comic within a comic that's become a comic all its own. Half dog, half man, all cop, Dogman is the brainchild of fourth-graders Harold and George, the creators of Captain Underpants (the character, not the book -- the book was created by Dav Pilkey; metafiction is confusing).

Created by psychologist William Moulton Marston in 1941, Wonder Woman has been a sword-wielding, lasso-slinging icon over the past 75 years and now she has a new logo to commemorate the occasion.
"There's no better time than now," speaking of Wonder Woman's new logo, Diane Nelson, DC Entertainment president, told PEOPLE.com, "The overall conversation that's happening in our culture right now – about having stronger gender equality representation in media and in government and in education and all of it just makes it the perfect time to see a character like Wonder Woman out there."

A few years back, Comixology started to sell the second volume of Dave Sim's Cerebus (HIGH SOCIETY) for 99 cents an issue, with a new issue coming out each week. But other than that, there wasn't many legal ways to get a digital version. But Dave Sim has changed that! On his website: http://www.cerebusdownloads.com/, you can find the entire 300 issue run of Cerebus available for digitally download. The first two volumes (1000 PAGES!) are completely free.
But, that's not the only cool part. Dave Sim's full press release seemed to give readers the okay to bootleg the series if they didn't want to pay for it!

Civil War II #1 by Brian Michael Bendis and David Marquez
Summary: In New York, several heroes have gathered to stop a Celestial from bursting into our reality. The heroes plan (which was developed by the Inhumans) is flawless and they are able to stop the Celestial with no problem. Several of the heroes are curious about how the Inhumans came up with such a perfect plan. Medusa introduces them to Ulysses, a new Inhuman who can see the future (and is immune to telepathy). Stark is very concerned by the implications of what this could lead to, but Carol Danvers sees this as a way to stop all the bad things that can happen.
Dynamite's reimagining of the Gold Key heroes -- Magnus, Robot Fighter; Turok, Son of Stone; The Mighty Samson; Solar -- reaches its third chapter in GOLD KEY: ALLIANCE. And while there's not an alliance to be had as yet, as none of the characters has even met, let alone have been proven to co-exist in the same story universe, Phil Hester has still set up some interesting plots that are starting to make the separate adventure have a cohesion.
When Magnus hunts down the kidnapped Leeja, he has to battle past a giant android. During the battle, he begins to see himself as a robotic prize fighter in a ring, not an agent in a street fight. His reality returns to him just in time to find Leeja at the mercy of the Mekman -- but what was this vision about?
The BBC instant hit series, SHERLOCK, has already seen adaptation into manga. However, unless you can read Japanese, you probably did not know this nor did you care.
But now Titan Comics has released the English language version of the story for the first time in the US and the UK -- and the game is afoot. Okay, technically it's a comic, not a foot, but you get the idea.
SHERLOCK: A STUDY IN PINK is a straight up adaptation of the television pilot episode, released in chapter format. The script by Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss loses none of its urgency under the adaptive care of Jay (just Jay). The minimalistic manga rendition of the characters nonetheless manages to completely capture the likenesses of Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman in their roles of Sherlock Holmes and John Watson in crisp, bold lines.

Wacky Raceland #1 - Wasn't expecting to put this on my list, but I really enjoyed Future Quest and Scooby Doo, so figured why not give it a shot. Take Wacky Races, set it in a Mad Max like future, and you have one hell of a strange concept for a comic.

Captain America: Steve Rogers #1 by Nick Spencer and Jesus Saiz
Summary: Captain America is tracking down a Hydra cell that hijacked a train and are looking to use it to detonate an explosive device in Penn Station. Rick Jones is assisting him looking to counter-hack the Hydra agent controlling the train. Cap and Rick (along with Jack Staff and Free Spirit) manage to save the day, though the Hydra agent on the train sets off a suicide vest to kill himself. Cap feels some compassion for this kid who had a rough life and was manipulated by Hydra.
