Supergirl x Flash: Is The World's Finest Episode

A villain team-up, a shift in the status quo and a cliffhanger ending highlight the fun and free-spirited latest episode of SUPERGIRL!

The episode has aired and the results are in! CBS experienced an uptick in ratings for the Supergirl/Flash crossover episode. And while it wasn't their highest rated episode, it certainly provided a boost in ratings that have leveled off over the last several weeks. Leaping +31% in adults 18-49 to a seven-week high and increasing +21% in viewers proves that the audience at home were eagerly awaiting this moment. According to Nielson SUPERGIRL was Monday’s highest-rated scripted series in adults 18-49.

Voltron: "Forming a Legend" Trailer Shows Dedication to Detail

Back in February we told you about Netlix and Dreamworks partnering on a new Voltron series. Now, they've released a 'teaser' trailer that provides some great visuals on how Voltron comes together.

After watching it you can see the attention to detal this series will have. Dreamworks is taking this property very seriously. With a massive update to the animation and a much more serious tone, this iteration of Voltron could blow the original series out of the sky. It's often very difficult to compete with nostalgia, however looking back on the original series, the storylines were often over-simplified for a younger audience and the animation was good, but certainly not high quality.

Take a look at the trailer and see for yourself:

GREASE: LIVE is the word and the one that you want!

Grease Live DVD

By: Patti & Chris Delloiacono

Chris: It's been kind of cool to see all the recent live theater productions on TV the last couple years. Unfortunately, as much as I love Broadway and musical films, PETER PAN, THE SOUND OF MUSIC, THE WIZ, etc, just aren't my thing. On the other hand, GREASE is one of my favorites. Now, I never saw it performed live, but John Travolta, Jeff Conaway, Olivia Newton-John, Stockard Channing and the rest of the cast are icons that put on a performance that's been with me all my life.

The Leftovers Season 2: Not Just a Reheating of Last Season

Leftovers HBO Dennis Russo Critical Blast

The Leftovers-The Complete Second Season on BluRay is, as you would imagine, the next steps in the HBO original series, but this is not really a “pick up where we left off and spend the first couple of episodes bringing everyone back up to speed on what happened the first season." No this different. You will really need to watch season one first to get an understanding more of the people than the story line.

The basic premise is still the same. Three (now approaching four) years ago, 140 million people in the world just vanished—departed, as it is referred to in the series--and the world is trying to find out why. What has changed and is pretty significant here is that season two starts in a completed different part of the United States, a town in Texas called Jarden, located in the middle of a Fictional National Park called Miracle, with a completely different family.

Ba-La-La-La-La! Big Hero 6 TV Series Announced for Disney XD!

According to comicbook.com Disney announced a 'sequel' for the 2014 hit movie: BIG HERO 6, in the form of a TV series on Disney XD.

While the animation style hasn't been announced yet, given Disney's work on STAR WARS REBELS, it's reasonable to think that BIG HERO 6 will have a similar look. That being said, they could go with more traditional animation as Disney has secured KIM POSSIBLE showrunners Mark McCorkle and Bob Schooley to executive produce. The two will will be teaming up with Nick Filippi, who will also serve as executive producer and supervising director.

From Gary Marsh, president and chief creative officer of Disney Channels Worldwide

Catching Up: The Flash Episode 214, "Escape From Earth-2"

Flash 214 Escape Earth-2 Grant Gustin

On Earth-2, Zoom is aware that Harrison Wells has returned -- and he's tearing up the city leaving flaming messages demanding he be turned over. (It's all being covered on Channel 52!) And with Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) captured by Zoom, things aren't looking well for the team of Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh) and Cisco Ramon (Carlos Valdes). Cisco just witnessed Zoom kill Ronnie "Deathstorm" Raymond (Robbie Amell) and Cisco's doppelganger, Reverb, and lets Wells in on the bad news. But they have other things to deal with as well -- Barry's doppelganger, Bartholomew, whom they also captured, is waking up.

Bartholomew takes some getting used to. He's very much a live-action Ned Flanders who whines a lot and makes hollow threats about giving people a piece of his mind.

Daredevil Season 2 Trailer Highlights Conflict with The Punisher

Ever since it was announced that John Bernthal would be cast as Punisher for season 2, of the Netflix orginal series DAREDEVIL, fans were excited to see the two rivals square off. The new trailer will only enhance that level of excitement.

A 2 minute and 12 second trailer has premiered that details the conflict between, not only Daredevil and Punisher, but Matt Murdock and his friends. In typical 'It's okay for me to do it, but not someone else' fashion, Matt Murdock doesn't like the Punisher's methods. It begs the question: When does right, become wrong?

"You know, you're one bad day away from being me." - Punisher

Catching Up: The Flash 213, "Welcome to Earth 2"

Flash Welcome Earth-2 CW Grant Gustin

Yes, Flash, welcome to Earth-2, where up is down, black is white and... Wait a minute. I'm pretty sure that would be either Earth-3 or Bizarro World. Either way, the Earth-2 in THE FLASH is a pretty trippy place, where science has advanced enough to make DNA-level detection easy enough to be an app in your smart watch, but style took a sabbatical in the 1940s.

FROM DUSK TILL DAWN: SEASON TWO may be inferior to the first but, it still scares up some thrills!

From Dusk Till Dawn Season 2

The film FROM DUSK TILL DAWN was such a cool event for me.  Think about it, this was the team up of Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez.  At the time, it seemed otherworldly and more akin to a comic book than a movie theater.  As a film, it was wasn't perfect, but it was funny, featured great performances, and was a hybrid of action and horror.  If nothing else, it was unforgettable.

Critical Analysis: Netflix Reveals Voltron Title/Logo

The folks over at Nerdist have the 'exclusive' but we've got the Critical Analysis! The new Voltron series for Netflix has an official logo and title! And that titles implies that this probably isn't a reboot of the classic franchise.

Voltron: Legendary Defender

From Nerdist:

Little is known about the series thus far, particularly about the cast and creators, but we do know that it will follow the same classic Voltron formula of uniting five teenagers in gigantic, robotic lions to protect the universe from towering evil. Only through the power of teamwork will they be able to kick some robotic ass, take some robotic names, and stop a terrible intergalactic war.

The Animated Batman That Almost Was

Animated Batman That Never Was

This is going to be hard for many people to believe, but way back in the mists of time there existed a world without an Internet. It wasn't quite the Stone Age, but the dust wasn't fully off the chisels yet. We had computers, and we were learning how to hook them together, but you had to call up an individual site using your phone line and a modem. Imagine that to go to a website you had to plug in its phone number, then wait, then log into it. Then to go to another website, you had to hang up with that one, and dial up another one. Yes, that was life. (It also snowed every day, and we walked to school barefoot uphill both ways.)

Critical Blast's Ballot for the Best of 2015

Critical Blast Best Of...

It's once again that time of year -- when we look back at the things we loved last year and try to determine which ones were the best of the best ("of the best, sir!"). The best movie, the best television show, the best books, the best comics -- and the people who brought them to us.

So, after a nomination process that makes the Iowa Caucus look like a standard up-or-down vote system, we've settled on the list of nominees below. But, we always recognize the fact that the readers may know better than we do, so each category has an "Other" option where you can put in what we missed.

Unfortunately, to avoid the potential for ballot stuffing (to the best of our abilities) the form below requires that you be logged into your Google account. If you don't have one (and why wouldn't you?) then you won't be able to participate.

So let the voting now commence...and good luck to all the candidates and write-ins.

Finding the Appalachian Cryptids: Mountain Monsters' Trapper Speaks with Critical Blast

Trapper, co-founder and leader of the Appalachian Investigators of Mysterious Sightings. Credit: Destination America

The television landscape has become a inundated these days with shows featuring teams of people looking for Bigfoot and other cryptozoological critters. Some of them are dry and anecdotal. Some of them feature the same thing in different locations, usually highlighted by people wandering around in the dark knocking on trees and letting loose with a yell.

And then there's MOUNTAIN MONSTERS, where the team of investigators get all fired up, carry their guns, and vow to "get that sonnuvabitch" when they get near him -- and they always seem to get too close for comfort, whether they're chasing down a Sheepsquatch, a Midnight Whistler, a Yahoo or any of the other many legendary creatures rumored to roam the Appalachian territory.
