Logged on this morning to a nice surprise! We finally got a release date and a teaser trailer for Marvel's Jessica Jones. It will begin airing on Netflix on November 20. It also looks like they stopped calling the show AKA JESSICA JONES.
Jessica Jones is an adaptation of Bendis and Gaydo's brilliant comic series ALIAS. Jessica Jones (played by Krysten Ritter) is a former superhero who has become a private investigator. The series will also feature:
- David Tennant as Kilgrave (PURPLE MAN!)
- Mike Colter as Luke Cage (SWEET CHRISTMAS!)
- Rachael Taylor as Trish "Patsy" Walker (HELLCAT!)
- Carrie-Anne Moss as Harper: An authoritative person and potentially powerful ally to Jones.
- Eka Darville as Malcolm: Jones' neighbor, whose personal journey intertwines with hers.
- Erin Moriarty as Hope: A client of Alias Investigations.
- Wil Traval as an NYPD officer
- Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple, returning from DAREDEVIL.
Commentary: We don't get to see much from this teaser, but they did capture the look and feel Gaydos gave the original comic series, so that makes me very happy. I am a huge fan of ALIAS, and I can't wait to see this series. DAREDEVIL was brilliant, and I expect more of the same here. I am already trying to get my wife to cancel our Thanksgiving plans so I can binge watch JESSICA JONES.
