DC has been putting a lot of marketing muscle behind the upcoming JUSTICE LEAGUE: GODS AND MONSTERS. In the upcoming weeks, there will be a digital comic series, and they have also been posting some shorts on Machinima's Youtube channel. There are three of them, and we'll be posting them over the next few days.
Here is the first one, called "Bomb" and featuring Superman and Brainiac:
Commentary: Dr Sivana as an advisor to President Amanda Waller? Yeah, I was pretty much hooked from the get go on this. The United States built Brainiac as a weapon to control Superman...and of course, the weapon got out of control. Sivana convinces Waller to drop a nuke on it, and she reluctantly agrees. But then Superman arrives on the scene. Rocking a VERY unique look. The above images are Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman. According to Wiki, this Superman is Zod's son! Superman fights he way through an interference field, and manages to make it to Brainiac. Who is even more of a shocker. I don't want to spoil it for you...the video is only 6 minutes! Check it out!
I thought this short did an excellent job introducing this alternate take on Superman. It's clear that he approaches things differently from Clark Kent, but he still has a great deal of humanity to him. The slumped shoulders sigh he gives after solving the Brainiac problem was really well done. This definitely made me real curious to check out the other two episodes. More to come!
