Hunger Games in 4K

On this election day in the United States, people on both sides of the political aisle are conjuring up visions of a dystopian America should "the other side" win the vote. What better day than this, then, to release THE HUNGER GAMES on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray disc?

Suzanne Collins took the YA literature world by storm when readers picked up THE HUNGER GAMES novels, sparking interest and debate along the way with her setting of a North America divided up into districts after a civil war against the Capitol. The Capitol won the war, and divided the country into 12 districts, demanding a tribute from each of them every year of one boy and one girl to enter into a fight to the death, to remind them every year that they lost. Katniss Everdeen volunteers from District 12, a coal mining district, to save her younger sister who was selected via the lottery. In doing so, she launches herself on the path to becoming the hero that would ultimately take down the Capitol, but at a very pyrrhic cost.

Now you can relive the thrilling film franchise starring Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen, Josh Hutcherson as Peeta Mellark, and Liam Hemsworth as Gale Hawthorne, forming the romantic triangle that was the core of the film as Katniss fights for her life and, along the way, becomes an inspiration across the nation for others to rise up. Woody Harrelson is fantastic as District 12's former champion, the town drunk Haymitch Abernathy, and Elizabeth Banks steals her scenes as Effie Trinket, spokesperson for the Capitol, who selects children to die fighting with the perkiest of attitudes. Rounding out the capable cast is Donald Sutherland as President Snow, who may or may not be the ultimate evil in Panem as the franchise unfolds.

These 4K HD discs deliver 4 times the resolution of Full HD and HDR. On a 4K television, the images pop in spectacular fashion, with brilliant color and clarity. If you haven't already had the Hunger Games experience, this is the set to get. If you have, this is the set to which you should upgrade.

So if you're spending the day bemoaning how bad things might get, and which candidate is the authoritarian fascist waiting to take over, then run out and pick this up. Once you've been to Panem, you can turn on the election results tonight and feel much better no matter how they turn out. And may the odds be ever in your favor.
