Cup of Cheer

I know, you probably haven't even bought your Halloween candy yet, but you know the drill. The minute the porch light goes out and you settle in for those last few chocolate bars you mysteriously found still left over, you lose access to the television for the next two months, because Hallmark has a whole new crop of sentimental holiday romance stories sprinkled in amongst years and years worth of their older movies (which aren't a whole lot different from the new ones, you might think!), and they're going to take over your screen in a mad merry marathon until the end of December.

Well don't sweat it. There's a hiccup in the heartwarming holiday horde of ho-ho-ho, and it's coming out November 6 from Indiecan Entertainment, and it looks sappily familiar enough that you can slip it in under the radar and onto your holiday watch list.

CUP OF CHEER follows Mary (Storm Steenson), a big city journalist who is assigned (completely by coincidence) to return to her charming home town of Snowy Heights, with the task of writing about the town's world-famous Christmas cheer. But upon (literally) running into the grumpy-but-endearing Chris (Alexander Oliver), the owner of the town's hot cocoa shop, Cup of Cheer, Mary learns the charming establishment is slated to be shut down -- and on Christmas Eve, no less! And to top things off, it's her ex-boyfriend doing the shutting down!

Using her big city smarts and her Christmas cheer, Mary unites the town in an effort to save Cup of Cheer, Christmas, and maybe even you from an overdose of overwhelming "awww"s.

Scripted by Jake Horowitz and Andy Lewis, CUP OF CHEER also stars Steve Kasan, Shawn Vincent, Adam Jenner and Liam Marshall. Available on digital November 6, 2020.
